Dear Member,
An Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) of the Members of the Isle of Gigha Heritage Trust will take place on Thursday 21st May at 7pm in Gigha Village Hall.
The EGM has been called to elect directors to the IGHT Board. Four nominations were received; however, only two nominations are valid, as the remaining nominees have not yet held IGHT membership for the required minimum period of one year.
Keith Wilson and Andy York will be proposed for election to the IGHT Board at the EGM. Following their appointment, there would be five elected directors elected (Jane Clements, Tim Lister, Ian Wilson, Keith Wilson, Andy York) and two co-opted directors (Fergus Christie, Gordon Watson).
The Board is encouraged to see continued interest from islanders in joining the Board. We hope those who do not yet meet the eligibility criteria will remain engaged and consider submitting nominations at the AGM later this year.
As a result, a formal vote is no longer required. However, the EGM will still proceed, and the Board will seek the support of the membership in confirming the nominated directors.
Please note that attendance by at least 20% of the IGHT membership is required for the EGM to be quorate, so your attendance would be greatly appreciated.
